One thing I’d like to share right off the bat – as I realise I share this a lot in client consults and in classes but not necessarily here – is that every astrological cycle manifests uniquely for each person.
Take Saturn in Scorpio for example. It’s a transit, a current, real time influence. Some people have planets in Scorpio, or even other fixed signs. They are the ones most directly influenced by this energy.
But, even those who have the same planet in Scorpio – say a bunch of people with the Sun in Scorpio – will each feel this energy differently.
Some of the reasons for this are:
– the house your Scorpio planet is in (and therefore the area of life transiting Saturn is influencing)
– the progressed Moon phase you are in. This is something that’s totally personal and says a lot about whether or not your Saturn-in-Scorpio-to-the-Sun transit will bring new experiences for growth or highlight endings.
– the level of potency your Sun in Scorpio has. This comes from its house. Planets in angular houses respond more obviously to transits, planets in cadent houses much more subtly.
– the strength of the planet in Scorpio. The Sun in Scorpio is neutral, but Mars is strong while the Moon is compromised. This is not at all as simple as saying Mars in Scorpio is good, while the Moon in Scorpio is bad. Rather, think along the lines of active or passive, as well as underlying motivations.
You could substitute any other planet for the Sun in the examples above.
Assessing all these features is what an astrologer does when reading or interpreting your chart. As you can appreciate, it’s quite an art and one that’s hard to beak down into small pieces.
Nonetheless, we do try, mostly to make as much information as possible accessible to you.
Client Consults
Working with clients is my absolute favourite way to share astrology. It’s intimate and totally personal. It requires a high level of commitment, focus and experience. Prior to a session, astrologers spend anywhere from 30 – 90mins sitting with, reflecting on and analysing your charts.
The session itself is an opportunity for you to share in insight, interpretations and symbolism that are uniquely yours. The astrologer shares their take on your chart and cycles, and you get to ask questions and make comments on whatever seems appropriate.
By the end of the session, most clients feel lighter, more content and clearer about current events and future possibilities. The high level of personal commitment, as well as the time involved, is part of the reason why sessions aren’t $10 a pop!
You might think of a chart session as a kind of therapy session for your soul, or a pampering experience for your spirit. An astrology session is more like a deluxe facial or body treatment you plan annually, as a treat and for inner refreshment. Rather than work with your body or mind, astrologers instead work with your spirit or essence.
