The Full Moon in Scorpio is ruled by (currently retrograde) Mars in Libra.
Every Full Moon brings insight, illumination and revelation, but especially this one, as it occurs in the deep and probing sign of Scorpio.
Things that are normally kept secret come into the light.
Under the cosmic spotlight that is the Full Moon, some of the more mysterious, murky and powerful parts of life are illuminated. Truths are revealed, and motivation – yours or others – will become clear. It’s possible to lift the proverbial veil and see what lies beneath the surface.
As the ruler of this year’s Scorpio Full Moon is retrograde, it’s possible that the insight that emerges has to do with the struggles of the recent past.
Mars has been retrograde in Libra since March 1. You may have had a particular issue, concern or problem that’s been on your mind since then. Mars ends his retrograde shortly, on May 19, which suggests the insights of the Full Moon may provide clues as to what’s next, or how to proceed in a stuck situation.
What’s illuminated now can lead to progress, or at least a refreshed sense of direction. Personally, I find the retrogrades of Mars some of the most frustrating. But, as this one winds down, I’m starting to see the point of a situation in which I have been doing figurative back flips!
This Full Moon may shine a light into an area of life that’s been dark, confusing or troubling for you. If so, it may reveal a truth, the next best step or simple one small action that may lead to growth.
Balancing Opposites
With Mars in Libra, moving forward means negotiating with others and compromise. Each Full Moon culminates in the opposition between the Sun and Moon, and highlights the need to balance opposites. In the lead up to this Full Moon there were two other oppositions – one between the Sun and Saturn (like being caught between a rock and a hard place) and the other between Venus and Mars (like being caught between self interest and partnership promises).
Life may have felt like a pendulum these past few days, as your energy, focus and desires flip flopped between polarising perspectives. I’m not saying the Full Moon will fix everything, but it may help you understand the deeper meaning behind recent events, or help you tap into the truth of what you want.
Compromise, negotiation and the willingness to work together is one of the lessons of Mars in Libra. If you’ve been avoiding this, give it a shot! Under the light of the Full Moon, you never know what you’ll discover, learn or release.
