I’ve arrived back at our little home in Canada, just in time for Canada Day (July 1).
This switch, from Winter Solstice (Sydney) to Summer Solstice (Canada) in a matter of mere hours, is quite a welcome one. It’s kind of cool to change seasons so fast, and I try to do it mindfully. To appreciate what early darkness offers (lots of talking around the table) and what the long twilight allows (late evening walks under everlasting dusky skies).
I have already undertaken one random jet lag inspired cleaning task – reorganising the linen cupboard! Way back in the day, I remember writing on my old website about arriving back from Italy and cleaning the fridge in the wee hours, when jet lag had me awake much later than usual. There’s something grounding about housework, especially after literally being in the sky. I’ve also attempted to assert some control in the garden – clearly, it rained A LOT while I was gone.
I’ve been so focussed on saying farewells in Sydney and thinking about what I plan for July that I almost forgot it’s a Full Moon! Fittingly, even without my jet lag inspiration, all this attention to practical matters is oh so Capricorn, the sign in which this Full Moon occurs.
This Capricorn Full Moon may bring your attention to mundane matters, or the work required to achieve your goals, especially those with a long term focus. Ambitions, to do with career, family and security, may be highlighted.
While every Full Moon arouses emotions, this Full Moon in an earth sign can provide clues as to how to channel any feelings that are stirred.
The earth influence highlights money, security and the material world. This can mean renewed focus on health and wellness goals, insight around financial dreams or recognising the most appropriate (read realistic) timeline in which you can achieve a professional objective.
And while I am doing all this, under the blossoming Moon light, after a month away, I am also reconnecting with Peter, the cats and my space.
I like to garden as a way of getting grounded post flying, and coincidentally (!) I have some gardening goals for the next couple of months. These include planting a new section of the garden, but doing so in a way that’s low maintenance and lasting. In the garden, this means mostly perennials rather than annuals, and thinking in terms of not just what plants look like now, but how they will fill out over time.
It strikes me that this reflective and measured approach to garden planning could apply to any of the other traditionally Capricorn areas – finances, business and via connection to its opposite sign of Cancer, families.
Another quick note about this Capricorn Full Moon – it’s ruled by Saturn, now back in Scorpio for a final 3 months. This Full Moon may help you connect with an unfinished goal or project connected to the Saturn-in-Scorpio story for you. If so, make it top priority from now until mid September, when Saturn leaves Scorpio for good and moves into Sagittarius.
Are any of your long term goals being stirred under this Full Moon? What’s being revealed by the Capricorn Full Moon in your world?
