I’m breathing out after the magical experience of the ISAR2014 conference.
This was a wonderful conference on so many levels. Gorgeous location, and the desert warmth seemed to manifest in the hearts of everyone I met.
I love the way an astrology conference can lift your spirit, fill your heart and open your mind all at the same time.
A huge + heartfelt thanks to the organisers, as well as all the lovely people I get to spend time with – between the hugs, the chit chats and the being-on-the-same-pageness it was pure joy.
I especially want to thank Victoria Smoot, Jenn Zahrt and Chris Brennan for helping me out with a technical snafu before my lecture on Sunday morning. Together we got it all sorted with a minute to spare!
As always, a conference is a great opportunity to meet new astro fiends, and deepen existing friendships. The joy of being together in person is divine, especially after spending so much time connecting, sharing and learning online.
At ISAR I got to turn a bunch of e-connections into real world friends, including the lovely Katie Sweetman (sitting left in the picture at top left, Priya is centre, and me, in what turned out to be my standard conference pose – eyes closed! – on the right). I kept saying – and hearing – ‘It’s so lovely to meet you in person!’
One of my favourite ISAR 2014 memories was our Sunday afternoon poolside relax. This is not usually something I do at conferences, but the desert heat combined with the pool right outside the foyer made it hard to resist. A big shout out to Leisa, Kate, Jenn, Nicky, Mary and Kaitlin for the poolside – and water slide – fun.
And who could forget the Friday night dance off, after the AYA journal launch party? In between all this having fun we did manage to get in plenty of astrology. Here’s me in action giving my lecture on Temperaments.
If you haven’t yet takent the plunge and attended an astrology conference, here is a selection of upcoming conferences you might consider.
