Last weekend was a doozy, with two potent but contrasting energies in play. I know it’s in the rear view mirror, but it continues to play on my mind, so I thought a post on reflection might be appropriate (assuming I’m not the only one!).
Astro wise, last weekend featured Mars on the South Node in Taurus and Mercury cazimi the Sun, also in Taurus.
Mars, South Node and the Past
The Mars/South Node has some difficult qualities. It’s about letting go, clearing out and battling the effects of the past. It’s a release cycle, the kind of which only happens once every two years. (The last one was July 2011.)
Mars/South Node can bring low energy levels, intense but steady work or responsibilities and frustrations with how slowly things are moving. Or, you may have begun to appreciate the need for the current measured pace. It’s often a matter of perspective.
Mercury On Fire
On the other hand, Mercury cazimi the Sun is a great placement, which hopefully helped your synapses fire and perhaps brought to light some bright ideas, or at least created situations in which you got to connect with interesting people.
Mercury cazimi helps with planning, scheduling and decision making, especially to do with business and contracts.
Both these important aspects occurred in the middle of the current eclipse season, which for my money, is one of the most intense in recent times. More on that in another post. If you need to recap eclipses, go here, here or here.
My Weekend
I spent the weekend working, ‘clearing out’ an ongoing project. I was busy, doing things I enjoy, but would rather do Mon – Fri. The work was very Mars/South Node in that I was in a steady cycle of ‘review, edit, release’. It was slow work and required being diligent and thorough. (So Taurus!) It was somewhat draining, in that I was working over the weekend, but that happens sometimes! (Being self employed, I long ago embraced the mantra of ‘make hay while the sun shines’.)
Saturday night was catch up time. We had dinner plans with friends, some old, some new. We were heading into another town to meet up, a town we love and would one day like to live in.
Magically, we had left for dinner on time, and found ourselves going to be early (thanks Mercury cazimi for helping us be organised for once!)
This meant we had time for a detour, into a particular little corner of said new town. While we liked the area generally, we hadn’t yet fallen in love with any one section of it. But oh, were we about too. Mr Scorpio travels to this area a bit for work, and had spotted a gorgeous little nook, across the road from the main downtown area, by the side of the town’s river. The houses were older style Victorians with classic architecture and plenty of character. The neighbourhood was well established, which meant lovely gardens and lots of trees.
Driving along, Mr Scorpio said “Look, there’s one for sale!”
As soon as he spoke I glanced at the street number and Googled the address to get a price estimate. “Wow, that’s actually just inside our budget.”
All in All
While this story doesn’t end with buying a house, I was nonetheless in love. The area was beautiful, and really had a lovely feel. Now I knew where we could live in this town – and that we could afford it.
We may not move for a year or four, but our little Mercury cazimi/eclipse adventure helped reveal a glimpse of a future we both love. The Mars/South Node reminded us of what needs to be let go to get there.
All in all, the weekend provided a window into the future, as our spirits opened to consider a future that wasn’t as far away as we’d initially thought. Eclipse seasons are like that, especially when activated extra astro facts as dramatic as last weekend’s.
Did you have any bright ideas, new encounters or future glimpses last weekend? Or, has your past reappeared for new closure?
