So, this weekend. Love and all that.
I’m not really one for the whole Valentine’s Day thing. Sure, I like love, in fact I love love. But you know not just on one day a year. I think love deserves more than that! And, when you’re in love, who wants to wait to celebrate or spoil that someone special on a specific day? Any day will do!
So, whether you’re in a love frame of mind or just looking forward to the weekend (which happens to be a totally random long weekend here in some parts of Canada), here’s a run down of the astrology this weekend.
The Moon is in adventurous Sagittarius, which encourages adventure, discovery and new experiences. Totally randomly, Sag Moon days are when friends and I would spontaneously decide to go out for some kind of exotic international food, or make the trek to a restaurant further away than the usual local.
To Sagittarius Moon anything familiar or routine can be boring, so change your usual routines wherever possible.
The Moon is in Sagittarius until 5.30pm Saturday night (Eastern) which is 9.30am Sunday morning in Sydney. Before then the Moon is super busy, meeting 5 different planets. Talk about being on the go, full of beans or perhaps just restless for excitement.
The one aspect that stands out given the love theme is that the Moon will square Venus. Sag Moon likes its freedom, and prefers to fly by the seat of its pants. Venus in Pisces is the most romantic Venus of all and wants cuddles, togetherness and any experience that feels like a fairy tale.
Given the square there’s a good chance that something’s got to give. Adjustments might needed. Stay flexible and be open to compromise. Single or attached, it’s a great weekend for learning, visiting a new location, taking a day trip or generally giving yourself freedom to follow your dreams. Once the Moon enters Capricorn, things get quiet, grounded, solid. The Moon is heading into her dark Moon phase, and this invites reflection, retreat and rest. We have a New Moon next week, but the later part of the weekend is about release, letting go and turning your attention inwards.
The Moon will sextile Neptune, which can invite escape, or ask you to take a break. Music, meditation or time in or near the water might be important.
As I wrote about in the February Astro Insider report, the middle of February is quieter aspect wise. Take this chance to be present, develop awareness and support those or that which you love.
