Rather than consider whether or not you’ll find love today – a question that involves a more considered study of your personal chart and cycles – I’ve chosen to consider the astrology of the day, from a love and relationship perspective.
Whether you’re single or attached, happy with your love status or not, one who loves to celebrate or resists the ‘Hallmark’ influence, the topic of love is currently a collective one.
Valentine’s Day 2013 dawns under a crescent Moon in Aries. The crescent Moon symbolises emergence, and occurring early in the Moon’s cycle, is associated with the first blush of new growth. In short – it’s a great day for new beginnings.
Aries is a sign of action, so what you do counts more than what you say this Valentine’s Day. If you’ve been thinking about someone special or dreaming about a magical experience for two, do something to make it happen.
The Aries Moon is applying to sextile Venus in Aquarius. Aries and Aquarius are both independent, self-sufficient signs, so there’s no need for classic romance or over the top gestures. Instead, simple, personal and direct is the way to go.
If you’re in Australia, the Moon applies to Venus during the day on the 14, which suggests before about 6pm is ideal for making an effort you want to bring results. After 6pm (which is very early on the 14 in Canada and the US), the Moon goes void, and won’t make any more aspects before changing signs.
If you are in Canada or the US, the 14 isn’t ideal for new romantic efforts. Instead, you might kept it simple on the day and opt for a more personally relevant – and thus more favourably timed cosmically – celebration on Friday or over the weekend.
Wherever you are, this Valentine’s Day is the first since February 1985 with Saturn in Scorpio, and the first since
February 2007 with Saturn in a fixed sign. As I wrote in my Saturn in Scorpio eBook, Venus (Aphrodite) was created as a direct result of the actions of Saturn (Cronus), and while many fear Saturn’s influence on love and in relationships, his energy is critical, especially if you want love to last.
With Saturn in Scorpio this Valentine’s Day, being deeply honest about normally hidden truths is key. Intimacy – emotional and sexual – is enhanced as you reveal what is usually kept secret. Under skies like these, soul baring and trust are essential.
Jupiter in Gemini adds lightness, creating a fun, flirty social vibe. If you’re single, a relaxing night out with friends is ideal. Some couples may choose to celebrate in a group, rather than withdraw to private relationship territory.
Whatever love hand Cupid has dealt your way, with a dynamic Aries Moon in play, you have power to act and assert yourself.
Over to you….do you celebrate love today? Do it your own way? Do you know your personal love style?
