Taurus Full Moon: Harnessing Stability & Nurturing Growth

Taurus Full Moon: Harnessing Stability & Nurturing GrowthTaurus is an inherently feminine sign. It’s ruled by Venus, and the Moon is exalted (strengthened) in Taurus. Both the Moon and Venus are associated with women – Venus with younger women, while the Moon with women-as-mother/nurturer.

In Taurus things are stabilised, so that growth can occur. Under the Taurus Full Moon, it’s time to increase the stability in your world. This can help you enjoy what you’ve worked so hard for, or may highlight where you need to make changes to enhance security and safety.

I always think of my Grandfather when I think of Taurus, as I see it as a sign of farming. Granddad ran first a dairy then a cattle farm in country NSW for 60+ years.

Life on the land has rhythms, and moves only at the pace of nature. Grass is grown for hay to feed the cows through dry patches. The cows move leisurely from one paddock to another, giving the grass time to regrow before they return. Granny’s vegie patch is something that has to be seen to be believed – pumpkins (squash), broccoli, beans and more, growing abundantly, well fertilised by chicken poop from the coop next door.

Life on the land is slow and steady and not to be hurried, which is the Taurus way.

Elementally, a Full Moon brings emotions to a peak, which corresponds with water, while Taurus is an earth sign. Put water and earth together and you get nourishing, sticky mud. Nourishment and being fed are topics in the spotlight now too.

As Taurus is lit up the Full Moon (a combination which happens just once a year) you too are invited to slow down, enjoy the fruits of your labour and notice what needs your loving, patient attention.

Tip #1 – Smell the roses.

Taurus is the slowest sign, combining the densest element of earth, with the most measured modality, fixed. It’s most basic message is to slow down. To take time to do things well, or to enjoy the present. Be Here Now’ might be the spiritual mantra of Taurus. If the present or your current circumstances are not as comfortable as you like, that’s a clue as to what needs your tender loving care.

Tip #2 – Opt for quality not quantity.

Taurus wants to enjoy quality, whether that’s with food, furnishings or lifestyle factors. Don’t spend more than you can, but buy the best your budget will allow. In Taurus, the slower pace invites a longer timeframe and from this perspective, it’s better to buy the best you can afford and enjoy it indefinitely. There is also an undertone of ‘little luxuries’ with Taurus, via the rulership of sweet Venus. This might inspire you to splurge on a special something to add extra comfort, quality or luxury to life. Or, you might give a small gift of gratitude to someone who has made a difference to you recently.

Tip #3 – Accumulate.

In Feng Shui, they talk about the difference between earning wealth (money from income, which you have to constantly trade time for) and accumulation wealth (money from investments, which builds regardless of what you do with your days).

Taurus embodies this idea of accumulation. It’s the garden you plant with (good quality) perennials that blesses you with beautiful flowers year after year. It’s the shares you buy with cash that pay you dividends (money!) as long as you remain a shareholder.

Don’t get me wrong, accumulate doesn’t mean buy more clothes or shoes, but rather put your time or money to work for you in a way that will pay off long into the future. This could involve studying, which you benefit from for a lifetime, paying off a credit card, which is like a financial black hole that sucks up way more energy and money than you ever realise, or investing your money for retirement or simply in a savings account.
