Taurus Full Moon Reflections: Hosting, Food & Grounded Energy

How was your Taurus Full Moon weekend? Did food feature?

I hosted book club at my place on Sunday, and prepared a yummy feast. It’s been a while since we’ve entertained and I’d almost forgot how much fun it was with menu planning, shopping, indulging. (I’m being serious – I love feeding people!)

My step daughter is born under a Taurus Full Moon and she is one of the most down-to-earth people I know. I’ve long been inspired by her ability to plan, and to work towards things over time. It’s like she typifies an archetype I’ve often thought of for Taurus, that of the farmer.

Taurus describes a methodical way of being, that involves careful cultivation and planning to ensure optimum success.

My book club menu planning felt the same. I have a tendency to over cater when hosting (I thank my Lebanese grandmother for that skill!) so I carefully thought through how much food I’d really need for six for lunch. The fact I started this the week before the event – rather than leaving it to the last minute – was a small miracle in itself.

I was so enjoying thinking about and organising the food, as well as pretty-ing up the house (Taurus is one of Venus’ home signs) I almost didn’t leave enough time to read the book!

Luckily, my forward planning – like baking up the day before to reduce food prep time on Sunday – meant I actually had time to soak in a bath (while madly finishing the book!) before my guests arrived.

Afterwards, with a clean house and a fridge full of food, Mr Scorpio and I were able to have a low key Sunday night – the slow paced, relaxed, lazy kind that actually does help you unwind before the week ahead.

What did you get up to on this Taurus Full Moon weekend? Did you relax? Slow down? Enjoy yourself or indulge a little more than usual?

PS The book for book club was ‘The Silent Wife’.
PPS The menu included my signature  flourless chocolate cake with fresh whipped cream for desert, as well as cheesecake with a maple glaze from the lovely Naomi.
