Earlier I posted this quote on my Facebook page:
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves.”
It’s by Rainer Maria Rilke, who is one of my favourite poet type writers. It’s been on my mind lately, and then it struck me that this quote is oh so Mercury in Scorpio. Mercury in Scorpio of course being a placement that loves to probe the depths.
Analysing the questions themselves – rather than always seeking answers – seemed a even deeper way to approach life.
The full quote reads:
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves, like locked rooms and like books that are now written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answer.”

Then, the lovely Jan B commented on Facebook that she thought Rilke in fact had Mercury in Scorpio. A quick Google search revealed his birth data – 4 Dec 1875, in Bohemia. (He’s a Sagittarius.)
With no birth time, he may have Mercury at 29 Scorpio or 0 Sagittarius. Rilke also has Jupiter in Scorpio – a love of the mysteries placement indeed. Said Jupiter forms a grand cross with Uranus in Leo, Saturn in Aquarius and Pluto in Taurus.
