This might sound crazy, but, as an astrologer, I’ll often be reading or watching something and start thinking….. ‘I wonder what that person’s chart looks like?’ Of course, I then have to put down whatever I’m reading or pause what I’m watching and go Google said person’s dob to cast their chart. I don’t always have access to a birth time, but even the planet placements on your day of birth can be quite insightful.
Earlier today I caught this fab interview by Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond of Mia Freedman. Mia is the powerhouse behind the Aussie women’s blog MamaMia.
Listening to Mia chat about the focus on women she’s had through her multi media career got me thinking. I knew she was a Libra, but wondered what else her chart might have to say. In addition to the women’s focus, Mia’s been a bit of a trail blazer. I grabbed her dob from wiki and cast a dawn chart in whole sign houses, to see what the planets had to say.
Since there’s no birth time you can ignore the houses. What’s interesting is that in addition to being a Libra, Mia has Venus in Libra, separating from Uranus. Ah ha! The strong women theme was represented by Venus in Libra, and the innovative edge comes from Uranus.
Seeing the Venus in Libra in Mia’s chart got me thinking about another Venus in Libra gal, Kristen Wiig, she of Bridesmaids fame. Kristen has Venus in Libra conjunct Pluto, and was experiencing her Pluto square Pluto mid life transit through the filming, release and success of Bridesmaids. 
Intense transformation re success, wealth and power indeed!
Of course, Venus in Libra isn’t the only thing in either of their charts. However, it’s worth focusing on because this is the manifestation of a planet in rulership, which is the best sign placement a planet can have. It gives the planet a boost in terms of expressing its needs, desires and energy into the world.
Venus and Women
Both women have found success through overtly focussing on women. Venus is a feminine planet and symbolises women. In the case of Mia, who’s chart is full of air (which emphasises communication, thinking and indicates a mind that never stops), writing has been a passion, and focussing on topics of interest to women has been integral to her success.
The influence of Venus/Uranus plus the Moon + Mars in Aquarius in Mia’s chart may reflect her willingness to step outside convention and challenge the status quo. Not in an in your face kind of way, but in that lovely diplomatic Libran ‘Why don’t we look this from another perspective? kind of way. Libra as a sign can be quite contrary.
Kristen, with the Moon in Gemini, brings the funny. I mean, Bridesmaids was hilarious and she is a Saturday Night Live alum. I’m not saying Kristen – or Mia – couldn’t appeal to a male audience (though I am yet to convince my hubby to watch Bridesmaids!), more that the ongoing focus on providing either a fresh or funny spin on women’s topics will generally be a key to success, given their inspired Venus in Libra placements.

Focussing on planets in rulership is one way to identify a useful trait, topic or trick a client can consciously develop to get one of their cosmic gifts working for them. Other planets in rulership include:
