Venus is in Virgo from July 19 – 31 for a super short visit. This creates an energetic preview of what’s ahead when Venus is in Virgo later in the year, from October 8 – November 8.
While in Virgo for this speedy visit, Venus will also begin one of her rare retrograde cycles. Venus is retrograde (moving backwards) from July 24 – September 5.
So we have an unusual Venus influence, where Venus is hanging in the sky, not moving. This puts the brakes on all kinds of Venus themed experiences, especially those to do with love and beauty, as well life’s little luxuries (otherwise known as what we spend our discretionary money on).
Venus is emphasised in this ‘hold steady’ position, glowing brightly in the western sky, just before sunset.
For some, this Venusian pause creates time and space to focus on Venus things, and to make more time for love and pleasure. For others, Venus treading water creates a temporary barrier to forward progress.
However I spin it, Venus is in an unusual pattern, which can create out of the ordinary experiences in her realm.
There’s no guarantee that you’ll stick with whatever Venus experience you undertake now, but trying something outside your comfort zone may be helpful and lead to new ideas.
You might open your mind or heart to a new strategy, but not be ready to implement it for a little while.
The observational nature of Virgo suggests paying attention, taking in information but the station retrograde phase of Venus suggests a pause and time to reflect before diving in is appropriate.
