The first week in this fortnight is busier than the second, and features a powerful triple link between Venus, Saturn and the North Node (midweek), as well as the imaginative Pisces Full Moon (Thursday).
Venus, Saturn, Node
A potent triple link between Venus, Saturn and the North Node highlights truth and trust, especially in intimate relationships. There is a secretive quality to this alignment which may bring to light that which has been hidden, but could also indicate the need to respect the boundaries a close partnership.
The involvement of the North Node indicates a taste of the future, which can inspire you if you like you what you see – or prompt a call to action if you’d rather things went in a different direction.
One thing we often forget about this idea of ‘living the dream’ is that to do so means moving away from what’s familiar or secure.
Under node activators it’s important to clarify whether what you most need is safety and comfort, or the excitement of something new.
Once you’ve clarified your priorities you can then consciously choose to embrace an opportunity that may take you out of your comfort zone, or stick with what you know for now. As always, the power lies with you!
Detriment Venus + Peregrine Saturn
Traditionally, this triple link has some challenges. Venus is in the sign of her detriment and operating at less than her sweet best; she’s also aligned with Saturn, in peregrine condition. At a recent lecture I was asked what it means for a planet to be peregrine. Technically it means the planet is not in any of its strong or weak places; it has neither dignity or debility.
What this manifests as is a lot like teenagers who hang out in public places with no clear objective in mind. Without a focus (dignity), or problem to manage (debility), they are more likely to get up to mischief. As is said peregrine planet, in this case Saturn.
Own Her Own Terms
A potential saving grace for Venus is that she is placed in her own terms in Scorpio as the triple link occurs. This gives her some footing and strength, potentially as much as if Venus were in one of her home signs. Maternus writes ‘for when a planet is found in its own terms, it is just as if located in it own sign’. A planet in their own terms is like a person being able to call the shots. It’s like clarifying, “I want this, but not that.”
I’d love to hear how you’re experiencing this triple link – more with inspiring or challenging Venus themes? (Venus being linked to love, beauty, values and money.)
Ultimately, it’s about choices. To choose what you most love, most desire or most want.
The act of choosing helps direct energy so be clear in your interactions. It helps describe boundaries – for yourself and loved ones – which ultimately help make it clear to all what’s really important.
Venus also aligns with Pluto midweek, offering a ‘purge and purify‘ energy to love or money baggage, as well as the opportunity to reclaim lost power with key partners. Definitely an ‘out with the old, in with the new’ vibe, regarding relationships or wealth.
Pisces Full Moon
I wrote about the Pisces Full Moon here, but here’s a little Full Moon extra. This Pisces Full Moon is close to the Fixed Stars Markab and Scheat, in the constellation of Pegasus (22 and 29 Pisces). According to Brady, Pegasus is associated with ‘action and focused ability, while also indicating knowledge and learning.’
Markab is the alpha or brightest star in the constellation of Pegasus. It is linked to the saddle on Pegasus’ back, and is associated with the idea of steadiness. It represents the placed from which one can act. It can show the emergence of a foundation or support for future flourishing.
Solar Fire describes Scheat (in the shoulder, the beta star of Pegasus) as having to do with ‘famous or free thinking people’. It’s about ‘different ideas, fast thinking and daring to think or do the impossible’. This can be a time of thinking outside the box, or breaking with traditional thought.
Equinox: Balance + Turning Points
September 22/23 brings the Equinox, as the Sun enters Libra. (It’s Monday morning in Australia, Sunday night in Canada and the US.)
As the Sun reaches its halfway point, it’s time to review and reflect. The high or low of the June solstice (high if you celebrated Summer then, low if it was Winter in your corner of the world) has passed and now you’re ready to move towards something new.
Do you have to recalibrate? Is life missing necessary balance?
If so, this your time to do a little more of what’s missing, and step back from what you’ve been overdoing.
Love and Money Come Alive
Venus, having left the clutches of dutiful Saturn, dances with Jupiter and Mars.
Venus trines Jupiter September 26/27, encouraging growth and expansion. This can unleash a hopeful energy which may help you try something new, where love or money is concerned. Getting out of your comfort zone is key – Jupiter symbolises the call to adventure – but the caution is to avoid going to far. Venus and Jupiter together could be indulgent if left to run amok (especially with Venus in detriment and now out of the protection offered by her terms.)
There’s a sweet spot between what you know and what you’ve yet to experience that can help you shift perspective and learn something about love and money now.
Venus squares Mars September 28/29, highlighting the tension of desire. How you go about getting what you want is important, and not to be overlooked in your enthusiasm to be satisfied.
This aspect may release some simmering tension about how to get your needs met, while still honouring the desires of others. Friction isn’t a bad thing, but can mean having to choose a different path.
How is astrology coming alive for you? What if any cycles are you especially in tune with?
