Venus says ‘ I really enjoy ……’ Mars comments, ‘I want ……’
This weekend, as Venus and Mars square, there may be tension between what you enjoy and what you want.
You might enjoy a quiet weekend (after all, the Moon is in caring Cancer for the first half), but want to get things done around the house. (Sunday’s Leo Moon may help with action).
Or, you may want to spend quality time with friends or family (another Cancer Moon favourite) but have to work, or deal with Things That Must Get Done (work or home wise).
That’s what squares do – they highlight the tension between differing interests. Adjustment is required as it’s not possible to have both as fully as you’d prefer.
What’s dominating for you – the need for pleasure (Venus), or the desire to get things done (Mars)?
Personally, I’m in that place between wanting to make our home prettier, but knowing we need to spend on maintenance and repairs. I know what I’d rather do, but I also know what needs to be done. For me, it’s a choice between cosmetic improvements (Venus) or practical jobs (Mars).
Planet Placements
Venus is challenged at the moment. She is placed in Scorpio, a sign where her craving for togetherness or beauty is somewhat interrupted by a compulsion to expose the truth or dig into what’s hidden or has been long buried.
Mars, while having no special strength in Leo, nonetheless has a sense of comfort – Mars being a hot dry planet and Leo being a hot dry sign.
With Venus on the back foot so to speak it’s likely the Mars side of this square wins out. That is, what must be done, that which you desire, rather than what you enjoy or derive pleasure from, takes precedence.
And for me? Rather than planting new flowers, I’ll be weeding and turning the soil. Rather than splurging on home furnishings, I’ll be sorting out window stuff and storage needs.
