Since it’s the Solstice season, it seems appropriate to discuss out of bounds.
In this context, the bounds refer to the ‘normal’ path of the Sun through the sky. It’s described by the Sun’s maximum or minimum declination, of either 23 North or 23 South.
Since the Sun is like the King, this describes the ‘normal’ route as being inside this range. Occasionally planets do move further north or south of this 23 degree band, thus placing them in an ‘out of bounds’ location. This creates a renegade or rebel like quality to that planet.
Out of Bounds is fun to work with. You can look up whether planets in your birth chart are out of bounds, or see whether current transitting planets are in or out of bounds.
Venus Out of Bounds
Recently Venus spent some time out of bounds, stepping outside the realm of the Sun between May 24 – June 19. Venus will be out of bounds again later this year, between October 10 – December 7. This helpful website has more here.
The picture of Venus, my cat, shows her out of bounds, as she is not supposed to be on my work desk! (This pic is from 2012, as I have moved and tidied my desk since!)
Did you notice anything particularly unusual – easy or hard – about Venus or Venus things, like love, art, beauty etc during this recent OOB period? If you know your chart, consider the houses ruled by Venus’ signs, Taurus and Libra too.
I’ve previously written about Out of Bounds here, in relation to Mercury and his retrogrades. For more on declination you might like this book.
