I’m writing to you from the Kitchen Table. No, it’s not some funky Sydney café, but the actual Kitchen Table in my parents home. The one that’s anchored countless loud, bustling family dinners, where we say grace before eating and where many a birthday cake has been cut.
It feels appropriate to reflect on family, food and the passage of time as the Moon settles into her monthly visit through Cancer.
Cancer is a sign of memory, of treasuring the past and the people who shaped us. Not all memories are happy, but all memories feed us. It’s up to you as to how you frame your past, as doing so helps shape your future.
In the next 24 hours the Moon moves through the cosmic hot zone, that part of the sky where the vibes of Uranus and Pluto remain active, which is technically speaking 14 and 19 degrees of the cardinal signs. Pluto being at 14 Capricorn and Uranus now at 19 Aries.
As the Moon dives into the depths with this potent planets, much can be stirred within your soul. A wake up to something you’d forgotten. A shake up about something you’ve ignored. A realisation, sharp as day, that highlights a pinpoint area of focus to energise. These cosmic interactions are potentially profound. They can shift, shake and help you re-create.
With the Moon making these connections from one of her comfortable places, her home sign of Cancer, home, memory and history may on your mind. Your heart may recall a ritual from the past and want to re-create it. You may remember a home you loved, or realise what’s missing in your current space.
Cancer is a cardinal sign, one of four signs connected to the equinoxes and solstices. It’s a sign of action, even if in Cancer that movement takes the form of a zig zag, rather than a straight line. Now you may feel what needs to shift. If so, make a like a crab and side step your way towards it.
It’s the safe places in life, your sanctuary that provide the nourishing we all need to blossom. Under this rather dynamic Cancer Moon, why not actively seek out the people or places that feed your soul?
