I started yesterday oh so slowly. After the 48 hours Aries New Moon busy-ness that was mid week, I needed a change of pace.
Thankfully, some kind of divine wisdom placed the slowest pace sign – Taurus – after the fastest – Aries – so we can all have a chance to catch our breath.
Rather than diving into work, I made a cuppa and read my book over breakfast. This is much more leisurely than scrolling through Twitter or Facebook feeds first thing in the morning.
Taurus and Food
Weirdly, I’d even organised a slow meal – having set out my oats (carb centric foods being classic Taurus!) to soak the night before. Even breakfast on Taurus Moon day was one that took 12 plus hours to make. (Normally, I have a boiled egg, which is ready in 12 mins.)
I hadn’t thought, ‘Oh it’s Taurus Moon tomorrow I should have oats.’ In fact, my thoughts were more like, ‘I probably should have some more fibre, oats for breakfast would work. Where’s the soaking bowl?’
Everything about my Taurus Moon morning was asking me to adopt a ‘slow and steady’ pace.
Taurus + Saturn in Scorpio
I had some deadlines to meet, so work was about completion and making sure client orders were filled as expected. Given that until 2015, while the Moon is in Taurus, it’s going to oppose Saturn in Scorpio, this is no surprise.
Taurus Moon days, at least for the next little while, require a balance between going slow and meeting commitments.

Getting Physical
The earth energy of Moon in Taurus was hard to ignore. I finally reconnected with my body, by exercising for the most time in a month. It felt good to stretch, notice the kinks and breathe deeply.
And what kind of workout does one do on Taurus Moon days? Why yoga of course!
Taurus is tactile, and with the Moon here, the cosmos invites you to be present to your physical self, warts and all.
The South Node and Release
An overdue bout of house cleaning followed my workout, as I realised the house needed a serious clear out and clean up. This speaks to another current Moon in Taurus phenom, that of the connection to the South Node.
The South Node is a point symbolic of the past, and represents what’s old or should be left behind. The Moon activates the South Node once a month, and it’s a great day for de-cluttering, cleaning or just taking out the garbage.
The point is to let go, finish, release or pass on.
This Moon in Taurus/South Node energy continues until February 2014, when the Nodes change signs (into Aries/Libra).
All in All
So while Moon in Taurus is about going slow and taking time, current influences from Saturn in Scorpio and the South Node in Taurus also mean it’s time to honour commitments, and let go clutter.
The Moon is just over half way through Taurus. How are you working these trends?
