* Control over wine and vegetation: Dionysus was closely associated with wine and grapevines, and he could control the growth of these plants as well as the production of wine. He was also associated with other vegetation, such as trees, flowers, and fruit.
* Ability to perform miracles and heal the sick: Dionysus could perform miracles and heal people of illnesses, often as a reward for their devotion or for helping him. For example, he cured the daughters of King Proetus of their madness and restored the sight of the blind Teiresias.
* Power of prophecy and inspiration: Dionysus could grant the gift of prophecy or poetic inspiration to those who were close to him. For example, he gave the gift of prophecy to the Sibyls and to the poet Orpheus.
