Hermes was the Greek god of trade, thieves, travelers, eloquence, sports, and athletes. He was also the messenger of the gods and the link between the mortal and divine worlds. Hermes was known for his cunning and resourcefulness, as well as his ability to move quickly and easily between different realms. He was often depicted with a winged hat and sandals, and carried a staff with two serpents entwined around it.
