Here is what to watch for today:
* The desire to put aside our differences for the sake of political, social, sexual, romantic, professional, or aesthetic harmony is strong right now. However the impulse to unite might be happening to the detriment of the facts, or the need to continue parsing things out as carefully and slowly and ethically as possible.
* We should be careful of how much we are willing to compromise or share with others, or how much ground we’re willing to give up on key issues in exchange for something we want or need. It’s possible that things like money, gain, power, or advantage of some kind will tempt us away from a more integral and thoughtful analysis of the facts.
* At the same time, it’s possible that certain key compromises are necessary for the moment, even though they will not be retained in the long run. While we’re in the midst of an important reconstruction or reorganization of something, or while we’re in the midst of carefully examining or deconstructing the specific issues within a relationship or system of some kind, “working solutions” may have to be formed until a stronger or more lasting position has been established.
Prayer: Help us to know the difference between a healthy and unhealthy compromise. Teach us how to understand principles as they exist within our relationships, and relationships as they exist within our principles.
