This week features the annual Sun conjunct Pluto aspect, a waning or dark Moon plus the start of Mercury retrograde.
Even though it’s the first work week of 2016, and you might naturally be thinking about moving forward, based on the astrology, it’s more of a week to stop, reflect, look inwards or even catch up on any unfinished business.
With Mercury retrograde (moving backwards) from January 5 (until January 24), you may need to go back over documents, decisions or your schedule. Be flexible as plans may shift, or missing details emerge. If you have future events to plan, use this influence to review your options and research possibilities, but hold off setting anything in stone just yet.
Power, transformation and change will be possible as the Sun and Pluto join forces midweek. You may realise where 
you’ve lost control, or feel empowered to take charge of putting an important plan into action. Release is always part of any Pluto process, so de-clutter your space or make peace with any baggage from the past.
The Sun can help shine a light on something that’s become toxic or difficult, and help give you the courage to distance yourself from a person or situation that’s no longer healthy for you.
Out of every Pluto contact you can emerge stronger and brighter. Looking inwards and letting go can help you shine a little brighter now, especially if you bravely speak a truth.
The Moon is also in wind down or release mode as she moves through her last two phases – the third quarter and balsamic or dark phases. This too encourages introspection, refection and taking time out to recharge. If you over did it during the holidays, go quietly and nourish your body and mind now.
