I walked back into my house, after dashing to the mail box to get an invoice in the post before the weekend, and let out a long, deep breath. Done.
The mad intensity of the past few weeks was complete. Going forward, there’s still plenty of work to do, but at a more measured pace.
And of course, at that moment of surrender, when I realised there was room to move in my afternoon, and time for leisure tomorrow, I remembered. Balsamic Moon weekend.
Let it all get quiet.
Let the fears settle, and the hopes bubble up.
Each month, the Moon blesses us with a 48 hour window of quiet and calm, and invites us to make like a hermit. This May, that’s this weekend.

I plan to potter in the garden and avoid my computer for a whole 24 hours in a row. I might bake, or head out on a long walk by the lake.
Rejuvenate. Refresh. Rest.
For one part of the weekend, the Moon is in Aries, the same sign as the South Node. Balsamic phase + south node = my favourite, a declutter! Letting go is one theme of the weekend. Try to (intentionally!) lose stuff, or bad habits. Organise, put away or throw out. My office will benefit most from a good tidy up this weekend, as will the garden.
For another part of the weekend, the Moon is in Taurus. There it’s ruled by Venus, currently in Cancer. Home, family and comfort will be highlighted. You might prefer people or places you know. I’m staying low key and local.
Under the introspective balsamic Moon, Venus reaches out to Neptune, forming a trine from 9 Cancer to 9 Pisces.
Blessed bliss. Let go. Give in. The call of the heart sounds strong.
You might attend to a creative, soulful or just-for-fun project. Nurture your body, your spirit and your most important relationships.
Be soft. Go with the flow. Send your attention within.
Seek music to match your mood. Go slow to get calm. Call your energy home, to your centre.
