Understanding Cycles of Release: Navigating Health and Personal Growth

Understanding Cycles of Release: Navigating Health and Personal GrowthMy body is doing it’s own version of release right now.

I am sick, with a cold that just won’t budge. I rarely get sick, but this little bug has taken up residency. I’ve been coughing at all hours and blowing my nose so much I have a nice red mark around my schnoze. (That could be a Surtees word, a made up word or simply the best my weary cold head can come up with.)

It’s been frustrating but today I made a little peace with it, once I reminded myself that not only is the Sun on the South node this week, but that the upcoming Libra Lunar Full Moon Eclipse is a powerful North Node eclipse.

Understanding Cycles of Release: Navigating Health and Personal GrowthIn the chart for the eclipse you can see the big bright Moon high in the Sydney chart, right next to the North Node.

Since my heart – and my software – defaults to Sydney that’s the location in this chart. BUT you must ignore these houses if you are not in Sydney!!!

See the second chart, below, for Toronto and note how the Moon/North Node pairing is now in the 6th House, bottom right, as this eclipse occurs Saturday morning local time.

This eclipse will be visible in Sydney (weather permitting) as it occurs late on Saturday night. (To see where else the eclipse can be seen, pop over here.) Understanding Cycles of Release: Navigating Health and Personal Growth

This is a potent eclipse because it is very close to the nodal axis – just 4 degrees between the Moon and the North Node, and also between the Sun and the South Node.

FYI, at an eclipse, the position of the Moon is key, hence this being a ‘North Node’ eclipse, as that is the node the Moon is on.

By potent I mean strong, energising and potentially emotional, in a powerful ‘that’s right for me’ kind of way. The North Node is about the future and where you’re headed.

Under this eclipse you might get a glimpse of your future. In turn this might mean needing to leave behind something that’s safe or familiar for you. Your dreams lie outside your comfort zone and the more you’re willing to leave behind what you know, the more you can connect with your future potential.

So hopefully other than getting sick, how might you experience this influence of the eclipse?

One way to personalise the eclipse to your chart is to locate the house in your chart that holds 10 – 14 Libra. This is the area of life that is being stirred up by the eclipse. What do I mean by stirred up? A few of things.

1 – illumination. A Full Moon is a time of maximum light so this can mean something to do with visibility, like something hidden coming to light. It can reveal information that was overlooked or make you aware of something you missed. An insight or realisation may clarify in your mind, as if you have ‘seen the light’.

2 – blocked illumination. As this is not just a usual Full Moon, but rather an eclipse, where the earth will block the light of the Sun on the Moon temporarily, there is a theme of temporary or short term blocks.

3 – closure. Any Full Moon can bring closure and completion. It represents release and the opportunity – or need – to let go. This can bring success, like finishing a project, or the recognition you might be focussed on something that isn’t working.

You can try applying these ideas to the topics of the house this eclipse will trigger in your chart.

Or you might just follow your intuition! Either way works.

How are you experiencing the lead up to the eclipse? Can you see any connections between your chart, the eclipse and what’s happening in your life?
