After getting up this morning, I quickly checked my email before heading downstairs for a cup of tea. I also glanced at Solar Fire, and noted the Moon was near the end of Aquarius, and thus void, at least according to one definition. Solar Fire let me know it wasn’t until 9.52am local time that the Moon would enter Pisces.
My first thought was ‘Damn, I can’t wait that long to start work this morning, I have a busy day and a lot to get done.‘
I know from past experience trying to get going, get started or begin while the Moon is this late-in-a-sign/void can be tricky.
Nonetheless, downstairs I went, for tea, a bit of a stretch, some journal writing et al. After that I thought I might play with the cats as they’ve been a bit neglected this week. Then, I decided to fire up You Tube on the telly, and see if there were any interesting astrology talks I could watch while I played kibble hockey with the kittys. At least I’d be sort of productive!
Kitty play time over, I realised the floors needed a clean so got out the broom and off I went, You Tube astro clips playing in the background. I was re-watching a clip I’d seen before, but it’s always good to revisit quality info.
Then, it ended and I searched for something new. I found a You Tube clip I hadn’t seen before and hit play. About 6 mins in, I heard something that piqued my interest – an historical titbit related to one of my pet astro interests.
‘Wow! That’s interesting. I did not know that’ I thought to myself. Quick time check – yes, indeed the Moon had just entered a new sign (in this case Pisces) and bingo – something new had triggered my mind.
So yes, this whole Void Moon thing does have something behind it. When I have the choice, I delay starting until the Moon is fresh in a new sign, with all the renewed focus and fresh energy that brings.
That said, the Void Moon is one of my favourite times for doing things that ‘nothing will come of’. I consider this to be cleaning, and other routine tasks that are never truly finished, just done for now. My floors need doing a couple of times a week (we have cats!) and this is truly a job from which nothing will come – it’s not ever really done.
There are a couple of different definitions of Void Moon. See Chris Brennan’s excellent Astrology Dictionary for a detailed discussion.
Do you follow the Moon? How do you experience the Void Moon energy?
