On November 6 Jupiter went retrograde in Cancer. Since the end of October Saturn has been pushing into new territory in Scorpio.
Jupiter and Saturn are known as ‘chronocrators’; they mark time. With one moving forward and another moving backwards, you may notice this push/pull energy in your life.
Jupiter’s visit through Cancer (June 2013 – July 2014) invites growth, expansion and new perspectives on the topics of Cancer (home, family, history, the past, security, protectiveness). However, this longer 12 month cycle is broken into periods of pushing and periods of holding steady. We are now in one of those holding steady periods.
Think about an area of your life that really took off in June (when Jupiter first entered Cancer). The busy, growing, pushing energy you’ve experienced since midyear is now on hold. This can give you a chance to catch up or reset around key topics.
Saturn’s visit through Scorpio (October 2012 – January 2015) demands effort, examination and revelation around the topics of Scorpio (resources, trust, truth, intimacy, psyche, death, taxes, betrayal, determination). This longer cycle is also split into sub cycles, based on whether or not Saturn is moving forward, and into new territory, or retracing his steps of previously activated space (going through a shadow or retrograde).
Between late October 2013 – early March 2014 Saturn pushes further into Scorpio activating new parts of the Zodiac.
This can bring a call to action and a brush with reality about topics you may have been ignoring. Under Saturn, clarification is required. Commitments must be revised and contracts either finalised or broken.
Reflect on a topic or issue that’s appeared since October. It may be an old issue or situation that you’ve been neglecting, or an emerging topic that promises rewards and security, but only through time and with effort. Cosmic Tag Team
Jupiter and Saturn are bit like the tag team of the Zodiac. Sometimes they move forward together, and great progress is possible. Other times they take turns, sharing the limelight of your attention. That’s the case between now and March 2014.
It’s not as simple as ‘When one door closes, another door opens’, but it’s along the same lines. You may benefit from treading water about one topic so you can better focus your energy onto a different subject. A conscious shift in focus may be just the thing to help keep you growing and evolving now.
You can further personalise these cycles by considering the house ruled by Cancer and Scorpio in your birth chart. Jupiter’s energy is expanding your Cancer house, while Saturn’s energy asks for greater effort in your Scorpio house.
Are you aware of having switched focus in the past four weeks? Have you been able to create progress on a stalled issue, or watched an area of life that was starting to get away from you come back under some kind of control?
