One of 2013’s key features is a strong emphasis on water signs. I’ve gone into this in detail here and here, however I wanted to take a post to focus on Mercury’s 2013 water sign phenom.
Water Signs
Due to Mercury retrograde exclusively in the water signs in 2013, Mercury spends an extraordinary amount of time in the water signs themselves. This includes:
– Mercury in Pisces, February 5 – April 14
– Mercury in Cancer, June 1 – August 8
– Mercury in Scorpio, September 29 – December 5
With Mercury spending all this extra time in water signs, conversations, ideas and communication will have a greater emphasis on emotion, intuition, creativity, healing and compassion.
Mercury’s Signs – Gemini + Virgo
If you are a Gemini or Virgo, you will have a distinctly sensitive or intuitive feel this year. If you know which areas of life these signs rule in your chart, apply the ‘softly, softly’ approach according to those house areas.
Houses
If you know your chart, note the houses that contain the three water signs – these areas of life are emphasised in 2013. Communication and connection in these areas of life is being reworked, and will deepen through the process.
Past Water/Mercury Years
Previous years when there has been an emphasis on Mercury in the water signs include 2007 (part influence) 2006 and 2000.
Think back to what 2007 (especially for Cancer), 2006 and 2000 were about for you. They may have been watershed years, and 2013 may bring new reflections of themes from then into your life.
Key Concepts
Either way, it’s a year to celebrate communication through creative means, like poetry and music. Feelings are explored in new ways, as everyone gets the chance to better express their most sensitive side.
