A 2008 survey of 10,000 Filipinos found that one in three had seen a UFO.
- One of the most famous UFO sightings in the Philippines occurred in 1991, when a group of Japanese tourists reported seeing a large, metallic object hovering over the city of Cebu. The object was described as being cigar-shaped and about the size of a football field. The tourists said that the object emitted a bright light and that it made no sound.
- Another well-known UFO sighting in the Philippines occurred in 1994, when a group of villagers in the province of Nueva Ecija reported seeing a large, glowing object in the sky. The object was described as being about the size of a house and that it emitted a high-pitched sound. The villagers said that the object eventually disappeared into the clouds.
In addition to these two cases, there have been many other reports of UFO sightings in the Philippines.
- In 2007, a group of fishermen in the province of Surigao del Norte reported seeing a large, triangular object hovering over the sea. The object was described as being about the size of a bus and that it emitted a bright light.
- In 2011, a group of students in the city of Manila reported seeing a large, metallic object flying over the campus of their school. The object was described as being about the size of a small car and that it made no sound.
The true nature of these sightings remains unknown. However, the fact that so many Filipinos have reported seeing UFOs suggests that there may be something to the phenomenon.
