Like Christmas, the Sun conjuncts Jupiter but once a year. And just like at Christmas, there’s a lot of hype and sometimes a few tears.
Both Christmas and Sun/Jupiter links create lots of chatter and hopefulness, but some years there’s more disappointment than satisfaction. Each Christmas brings unique promises or pitfalls and similarly, not all Sun/Jupiter links are created equal.
This time around the Sun/Jupiter link occurs while Jupiter is in the sign of its detriment (Gemini). This means Jupiter is weak or operating out of the trickster rather than the genuinely inspired side of his nature.
In short, the current Sun/Jupiter link is unlikely to live up to the hype, as Jupiter doesn’t have great things to offer while in this restricted or non-vital placement.
It may be a case of double or nothing, but double can be one thing to many right now.
Under this influence, after doing minimal domestic stuff all week, I cooked two dinners for the family – and ate a plate from both. OTT double up indeed.
Yes, I am stuffed. I took in too much.
This is a common Jupiter problem – the excess of abundance, which reflects Jupiter’s sin, gluttony.
With the current Sun/Jupiter link happening in Gemini, it’s hard to pick one option, but doubling up may mean spreading yourself too thin – or taking on/in more than you can handle.
Transition
We are in a general place of transition as the Sun and Jupiter prepare to change signs. First up is the Sun, as it enters Cancer on Friday, creating the Solstice – one of the two most important Sun events each year.
Then, Jupiter enters Cancer next week. Regarding Jupiter, this shift is an extreme one, as Jupiter moves from a sign of detriment to a sign of exaltation and gains great strength seemingly overnight. This can mean improvements
regarding Jupiter things. Jupiter in Cancer is more likely to manifest Jupiter’s upside, which is about mercy and generosity.
To add extra emphasis to this already active next 10 days, there is a potent Full Moon on Saturday (it’s shortly after the Solstice which always adds intensity), and Mercury goes retrograde next week.
All is indeed not as it seems and buying into the hype is not satisfying – for long.
Pause, reflect and feel. Soon enough Jupiter will guide into ways that support nourishment for all.
On these extreme, OTT day – how are you doing?
